Microsoft Paint – circa 1998
My mind is blown as I'm introduced to the computer for the first time by my parents. Microsoft Paint in particular changed my world as an artistic kid who realized for the first time ever that he is no longer confined to paper and pencils.

The moment I became aware of the ubiquity of design in our lives. Walking around a space where every micro and macro detail has been deliberately designed by another person to improve their experience.

Macintosh – circa 2007
The final paradigm shift. The eye-opening experience I gained at IKEA condensed into the form factor of a personal computer. Every assumption that I had about how some things just have to be boring, ugly, or clunky was turned on its head.

Where it all came together, after years of kicking around in my subconscious mind. I was preparing to begin design school, and seeing the incredible multidisciplinary work carried out at Sidewalk Labs gave me a clear sense of purpose & direction to guide me for the next 5 years. I bugged them a lot for an internship back then, too bad that reality never came to be.
